Tampa Rays find New Stadium to use for 2025 Season

Hurricane Milton in October caused significant damage to Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Bay Rays. The roof was ripped open. As a result, the Rays needed to find a new home stadium for the 2025 season as repairs aren’t expected to be completed until 2026.
George M. Steinbrenner Field will become the Rays new home stadium during the season. The field is home to the Tampa Tarpons of the Florida State League, the low-a affiliate of the New York Yankees. The field is also the spring training home of the Yankees.
The Rays will still play their spring training games and workouts at Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte Florida. The Tarpons will move to another location within the Yankees spring training complex for the season.
The Rays first home game of the 2025 season is March 27th, 2025, against the Colorado Rockies.
Even for a bit of a rivalry it’s nice to see the Yankees and Rays come together to give the Rays a new temporary home foe the new season.
