Take This Bottle – CHUCK MOSLEY

Chuck Mosley can sing Mike Patton’s songs just as well as Patton can sing Mosley’s.

Instead of grieving I watched and listened to a lot of audio and video of Chuck Mosley’s Reintroduce Yourself tour. This led me to cobble together a video for our cover of Faith No More’s, Take This Bottle. I didn’t know what I was doing and I only had so much footage to work with, but I enjoy it and you should too…Please share.

After three decades working in music, Chuck Mosley (Faith No More, Bad Brains, Indoria, Primitive Race) decided to pursue a solo project with a raw, psychedelic, acoustic direction. Armed with his guitar, a vocal effects processor, and a few friends (Cris Morgan, Randy Pirosko, and Douglas Esper), he embarked on a two year tour and completed a few recording sessions. During a six-hour block in August of 2017 with producer Joe Haze, Chuck recorded two covers, “Nothing Compares 2 U,” originally written by Prince (and originally made famous by Sinead O’Connor), and “Take this Bottle” by Faith No More (a FNM cut recorded during Mike Patton’s reign). The two recordings have never been released until now.

This ended up as Chuck’s last time recording in a studio before his death on November 9th 2017. His guitar solo on Nothing Compares 2 U never got completed as the band had to leave for a show that night in Salt Lake City.

I can wait to love in heaven I can wait for you Far away, I’ll treat you better Better than down here Cuz I’ve done wrong And I’m a little afraid And I ain’t too strong And this ain’t easy to say: Take this bottle Take this bottle And just walk away – the both of you And let me feel the pain – I’ve done to you I can hope we’ll be together With a better roof over our heads I can hope the stormy weather It passes on – it passes on But I’ve hoped too long Hoped for me to change And that hope is gone So listen to what I say: Take this bottle Take this bottle And just walk away The both of you And let me feel the pain I’ve done to you I can wait to love in heaven I can wait for you Take this bottle and just walk away Take this bottle and just walk away Take this bottle (You gotta take it away, you gotta take it away) Take this bottle (You gotta take it away, you gotta take it away) And just walk away The both of you And let me feel the pain I’ve done to you I can wait to love in heaven I can wait for you
