The Upper Main Line YMCA located in Paoli, PA is having their Founders Day Festival and Pro-Am tennis tournament Saturday, June 2nd 2012 from 10am to 4pm.

I have an affinity for UMLY because I began my tennis career there in the late 90’s when I joined.  I played on my first USTA team, UMLY 2, a 3.5 Mixed Doubles team captained by Lisa Rogers and Patty Desjardon. Some 15 years later, I have made many friends at UMLY which does a great job supporting the local tennis community.

UMLY is a charitable non-profit organization serving more than 27,000 households in Chester County. This fundraiser will raise money for the Changing Lives Campaign which offers financial assistance to those who cannot afford to pay for a YMCA membership. Last year UMLY awarded more than half a million dollars of financial assistance in all of our programs which include: Summer Camp, Membership, Aquatics, Arts and Humanities, Dance, Environmental Ed, Health and Fitness, Sports, Leagues, Pre-school, Daycare and Babysitting. The Changing Lives campaign raises funds to provide financial assistance to those who cannot afford a YMCA membership or participation in a program.  No one is ever turned away for their inability to pay.
