Support Chelsea Community News

Of all things, a rare appeal to support a website I write for that isn’t the Travalanche campaign. In point of fact, I’m super proud of many of the articles I’ve cooked up for Chelsea Community News over the past couple of years, most of which have a historical angle. Some of them have included:

This piece about Chelsea theatres producing online theatre during the pandemic

The Ghosts of the Chelsea Hotel

A History of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Clement Clarke Moore and A Visit from St. Nicholas

My “Slices of the Tenderloin” series (for Black History Month)

A One Man Show about Tennessee Williams directed by Alan Cumming

Profiles in (LGBTQ) Pride

What’s Up atThe McKittrick Hotel

Tin Pan Alley Day

Where the Magicians Shop in Manhattan

More importantly, I just write the occasional article every few weeks and months. Day in, day out, editor/publisher Scott Stiffler (and classy contributors like Michael Musto, Charles Battersby et al) provide tons of hard news, human interest stories, reviews, and so forth, laser focused on Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood. All of that content is free to readers! But if you’d like to support it (and everybody benefits from this kind of hyperlocal independent journalism), the GoFundMe campaign is here.
