Sunday, September 23 Match Day

Update:

On the road today. Use the links. I’ll comment when I can.

Drove back and then spent the day looking at wedding venues for my daughter. Yeah, the shotgun didn’t scare him off. I have a trip planned for tomorrow so my life is a little hectic at the moment. I will get to the wrap-up…just don’t know when.

As far as today, Southwestern is definitely playing better and took the first game off of Colorado College but then the Tigers took care of business. Freshman Isabella Vasquez (CC) had 16 kills. I got to see her play against Austin College and she looked really good. She seemed on the small side but is listed at 5’10”. Probably just the tall ladies she was standing next to on the team.

The battle between Southwestern, Centenary, TLU, Dallas and Austin College is a lot closer than I thought to start the year. That’s five teams looking to fill four SCAC Tournament spots.

Random Thoughts:

The rare Sunday matches as the SCAC holds their crossover games.

The big match would typically be Colorado College / Southwestern but the young Pirates are not going to match-up well with the Tigers. Events back at home are probably going to force me to miss this one.

Dallas / Centenary has SCAC Tournament implications as only 6 teams qualify. The tournament is held at Dallas this year so extra incentive for UofD.
