Updates: SU/Millsaps about to kick off. I have not started any work this morning. Vacation and all.
Being a fan seems to mean being frustrated more than being happy. Southwestern is very frustrating.
We watched the SU match. Millsaps had a nice lead in the first set and then held on to win that but lost the next three. Tatum Ahrens had 16 kills, 2 aces and 13 digs. It will be interesting to see my Pirates when they play the better half of the conference next week.
Berry handled Centre well in a sweep that moves Centre to 0-3 in conference. That is very surprising. Lura Underwood had 10 kills hitting 0.500.
Sewanee gets the sweep over Oglethorpe although all three sets were close. Savannah Gann with 15 kills in this one. Sophia Caruso had 21 digs. Hendrix got their sweep over Dallas. They got to use their bench in this one so, in that spirit, love to Rachel “Hawkeye” Pearce who had 4 kills in her one set hitting 1.000.
Trinity is leading Rhodes and should get the sweep here. Austin leads Ozarks early in the first set.
Trinity with the sweep. They definitely staked a claim to the SAA title this first conference weekend. Reagan Whatley with 14 kills (only 1 error) and 3 aces.
Austin gets the sweep of Ozarks giving them their first SCAC loss in their history! In this match, I think Austin played 40 players. Madisin “Too many Eyes” Hartsfield had a great game here. Shout out to Avery Ridge who had 3 digs in her one set of play.
That covers the day. I have a lot on my To-Do list. Not a lot of time but an understanding (hot) wife.
West Schedule:
1 pm Rhodes 0 Trinity 3
2 pm Austin 3 Ozarks 0National Games to Watch (Video links provided):
It’s really just us going at it today. The rest of the country is sane.
Random Thoughts:
Well, I made it through the weekend with the new format. Less matches overall made it possible.
Just the SAA and SCAC today.
SU/Millsaps leads us off and this should be a Pirates victory. Still, got to get the job done.
Centre and Berry is a really good one. With Trinity taking names yesterday, this will position the winner in second in the conference (the other pod was weaker overall so I’m not counting anything over there).
Rhodes/Trinity looks more interesting after that Rhodes victory over Centre yesterday.
Austin plays at Ozarks. Enjoy the ceiling.
