Sunday, October 28 Match Day
Update:
Made it to the dome! Centenary takes the first set over TLU.
TLU takes the second set. Tied 1-1. My Strawn’s strawberry pie fix is going to be delayed.
Schreiner takes set two from Austin College and they are tied at 1-1. Austin College cannot afford to lose this match.
Centenary takes set three and are up 2-1. Austin College is now up 2-1.
TLU / Centenary going to a fifth set.
TLU with the win and I think we have three teams tied for two spots in the SCAC Tournament.
Austin College won. Means Centenary needs to beat Schreiner and the final spot goes to the winner of the TLU / Austin College match.
Southwestern wins the first set 25-18.
Trinity takes set two 25-15. Tied 1-1.
Trinity up 2-1 as they take set three 25-17.
Going to a fifth set as Southwestern wins 25-19.
Trinity takes set five 15-11. Word on the street is that Colorado College will get #1 seed in the SCAC Tournament.
Flew back home andat looks like TLU is eliminated from the SCAC Tournament. More later… Wrap-up will be late. So hungry. 😁

Random Thoughts:
The SCAC finishes off their conference schedule today with matches at Centenary. I’m thinking about flying in for this. I will be flying out in the morning and should catch the TLU / Centenary match and, of course, the Southwestern / Trinity match.
Trinity needs to be Southwestern for a tie of the regular season championship. With that said, I believe regardless of the outcome that Colorado College has the #1 seed locked up. I think it will come down to total match points and Colorado College has an advantage. I could be wrong. The tiebreakers for the SCAC are 4 pages long! As a reminder, the conference tiebreakers are stored on the left side menu of this website.
The SCAC takes 6 teams to their tournament but we only know four teams right now. Dallas is done at 7-9 but it’s not mathematically possible for three other teams to get to that total. Centenary should get to 7-8 and a win against TLU puts them at 8-8 and fourth place. Austin College should get to 6-9 with just TLU left. I’m unsure who has the tiebreaker if TLU should beat Austin College and tie with them. It depends on the order of finish in the conference and how each team did against common opponents in descending order. Bottom line, I think Centenary is getting in and it’s down to TLU and Austin College for the 6th spot. They will play in the last regular season conference match of the year.
