Sunday, Oct. 24 Match Day!

Updates: Most, if not all, of the links go to the Schreiner portal that costs money. Sorry. Sometimes the schools will have a separate (free) stats going.

Trinity with the sweep. TLU is up 2-1 and trying to close out Schreiner.

TLU got the win.

CC with the set one win and then fights off 3 set points in set two and win 27-25. Up 2-0 and things look bleak for my Pirates.

Southwestern takes set three. Not that I’m superstitious but things look bleak for my Pirates.

CC with the 3-1 win.

Sorry. One of two things happened. I either got very depressed after the Southwestern loss and had to step away or my “hot wife” made me leave the house. They could have been related. But, I’m back!

With regards to the CC/Southwestern match, it was disappointing. I don’t think SU played a game they were capable of but all the credit in the world to CC for making that happen. CC should get the second seed in the SCAC Tournament and a third matchup is likely between these two teams.

I didn’t get to see the other two matches. St Thomas had a rough weekend. TLU looked good overall.

Random Thoughts: The cover photo was a tough one to find. Schreiner senior libero Elora Reyes!

It’s just the SCAC today and I’m sure this will interfere with the Wrap-Up in some way.

Trinity gets St Thomas and host Schreiner. Both should be wins for the Tigers but both teams can cause issues.

Southwestern and Colorado College is probably the match of the day as two ranked teams go at it. They are basically playing for the 2nd seed in the SCAC Tournament and who gets the bye. I think this is more important for Southwestern as their at-large chances are probably slimmer. Getting a win here puts the SCAC in position to get 3 teams into the NCAA Tournament.

Like Trinity, TLU gets Schreiner and St Thomas. I think TLU should get wins here but these matches will be closer.

Video streams weren’t posted as of Saturday but I’m assuming the same as yesterday. I bet that Trinity/St Thomas match will be at a high school so no video stream unless Trinity does something. St Thomas also tends to put stuff out when this happens so check their twitter or IG posts.
