Summer 2025 Items to Buy at Costco

It’s almost summer! In my opinion, the summer is the best time of the year. Now, when I have visited Florida in December and was able to send time in the sun and warm weather, I don’t care whether it’s summer or winter (except that it gets dark earlier in the winter) but from Boston, summer is definitely the best. I don’t think it’s important to by much for summer (sun and warmth is plenty) but for those planning summer activities or trips (Benefits of a nearby Costco on a beach vacation: Part 1 of 2); (Benefits of a nearby Costco on a beach vacation: Part 2 of 2), Costco has some items suited for the season. Consistent with the seasonal pattern, now is the time to be getting items (Navigating Seasonal Items at Costco). Based on a few recommendations lists, here are some summer items to get now

1. JonnyPops Rainbow Fruit Stacks

A summer treat suggested for summer are these popsicles. They are sold in packages of 18 2.4-ounce popsicles, and are organic, vegan, gluten free, and kosher. The pops contain layers of cherry, orange, lemon, lime, blue raspberry, and grape.

These sound very good and are very attractive. I don’t eat a lot of popsicles because they seem disappointing compared to ice cream but once in awhile they are quite refreshing. I also like the idea of several flavors in one pop. I suppose it’s possible that the flavors might blend into each other but I do remember liking those red, white, and blue “bomb pops.”

2. Vita Coco Piña Colada

Another summer treat that is recommended is this new drink, a variation of coconut water. It is Pina Colada with pulp. It is sold in cases of 12 16.5-ounce cans. Apparently, it is not available in all Costco stores.

I love Pina Coladas. I love the combination of pineapple and coconut with the icy, slushy texture. I remember serving them (without the alcohol) at some of my parties in the summer in high school. I am perfectly happy without the alcohol. If I saw these at my local Costco stores, it would be tempting to try them and maybe pour and freeze it before drinking.

3. Island Way Tropical Fruit Sorbet

Another frozen treat for the summer are these sorbets. They are sold in packs of 12 in four flavors (Heavenly Coconut; Red Berry & Ruby Grapefruit; Passionate Mango; Zesty Pomegranate). The sorbet comes in fruit shells.

These sorbet shells look great. I generally don’t love sorbet or sherbet because they are often overly sweet and a little icy but, on occasion, they are very enjoyable as a cold treat. These flavors also sound very good.

4. Kirkland Signature Grass Fed Wagyu Patties

Known for being high quality meat, these frozen burgers are sold in bags of 15, 5.3-ounce. They do not contain antibiotics or hormones and are a good sense of protein.

I wouldn’t eat these burgers. Even with kosher meat, fresh is definitely preferable. However, frozen patties are certainly more convenient for a last-minute meal or cookout. I don’t know enough about meat to know what makes this type of beef special, but I have read that it is high quality.

5. Vacation Classic Lotion

A summer staple sold at Costco is Vacation SPF 50 sunscreen. It is sold in a two-pack of 6-ounce containers.

I have never heard of this brand of sunscreen. I have bought other brands at Costco in the past but am not loyal to a particular brand. I am more likely to buy larger containers, as I like to use a lot of the spray. I do like to buy 50 SPF.

6. Beachcomber Bag

Apparently, this bad is a cheaper version of another brand. Made of vinyl, it can be used to carry wet items without getting ruined.

I like this bag. It appears to be a good size for carrying all that I would need for a day at the beach. In addition, although my typical beach bags can easily be washed if they get wet or sandy, I like the idea of a bag that can just be rinsed out.

7. Gazillion Ultimate Bubble Mania

A summer item for kids is this bubble machine. It is sold as bottles of bubbles, a charger, and LED lights. It results in a machine emitting bubbles and lights.

I did not have a good image of what this item looked like so I looked it up. I would like to see how it actually works. It sounds fun and aesthetically appealing. However, I wouldn’t want it to replace the fun of actually blowing the bubbles, as that was also a very simple source of fun.

8. Weber Grill

A larger item recommended to purchase for the summer is this grill.

I don’t grill so I don’t know about brands or styles. However, I know that, for many, it is important to have a high quality grill for those summer cookouts (perhaps for grilling those Wagyu burgers mentioned above??) Grilling outdoors is not permitted where I live, but when I used to live in a house (vs condo), my family made frequent use of the grill in the summer.

9. La Terra Fina Quiche

This convenient dish is sold in a two pack (Spinach & Artichoke; Cheddar & Broccoli.) they are made with egg whites and have a buttery crust. They can be cooked in the oven or air fryer.

It is too bad that these quiches are not kosher. i am not sure if I actually like quiche itself so much or more the *idea* and appearance of quiche. However, I have always enjoyed it. These combinations sound great too. I bet they make a great summer brunch dish with some fruit or dinner with a salad.

10. Red’s Carne Asada Breakfast Burrito

An item recommended for breakfast are these burritos. They are sold in boxes of 10 5-ounce burritos and contain beef, poblano peppers, and cage-free eggs.

Definitely not for me but certainly convenient for those who enjoy breakfast sandwiches.

11. Vitamix Ascent Series A3500 Blender

Suggested as a helpful summer appliance for making smoothies and mixed drinks, this blender has five settings (Smoothies; Soups; Frozen Desserts; Dips; Spreads; Self-Cleaning).

I have written before about my “smoothie phase.” At other times, we have used the blender mainly for frappes (milkshakes for those not in Boston). I don’t plan on buying a new blender but I am curious about the “self-cleaning” setting as one of my main gripes about blenders is how difficult they are to clean.

12. Tupperware XL Food Storage Container

A new item suggested for summer is this plastic food storage container. The article mentioned that it is a perfect size for a Costco Rotisserie Chicken. The containers are 1.5 gallons, contain a removable tray, and can be washed in the dishwasher.

I think it would be funny to have a designated Rotisserie Chicken storage container (that, of course, can be used for other things). Given the importance of the chickens for many Costco members (Facts About the Costco Rotisserie Chickens); (10 Popular Products to buy at Costco)), it makes sense that the author would think about storing a chicken in the container. It doesn’t seem that different from most storage containers to me.

13. Kirkland Signature V3.0 Yellow Golf Balls

These golf balls are sold in a package of 24 and are USGA and R&A compliant. The article recommends buying them in order to be able to spot them more easily.

I don’t golf but I’d be all for it being as easy as possible to spot the balls!

14. OXO SoftWorks Water Bottle Cleaning & Drying Set

This kit provides an easy way to clean reusable water bottles. It can hold four bottles, lids, and straws and contains a brush. It can be cleaned in the dishwasher.

I happened to see a Shark Tank episode the other night about a cleaning product for reusable water bottles. The entrepreneur mentioned that water bottles contain a very high number of germs. I don’t tend to worry much about these objects(even though maybe I should)

15. Columbia Outdoor Blanket

These blankets are another item recommended for summer. They are 72” x 72,” have a waterproof shell, a strap for carrying, and can be washed in the machine.

I have no need for more blankets but I am always tempted by them. I love big blankets for bringing to a park or the beach.

16. Over&Back Options 16-piece Dinnerware Set

These ceramic sets contain four sets of four dishes (dinner plates; salad plates; cereal bowls ; dinner bowls) and are available in four colors (blue; gray; light green; beige).

I have no need for new dishes but this is an attractive set.

17. Seville Bamboo Bath Mat

Another item suggested as a summer purchase are these bath mats. They are made from bamboo, are designed not to skip, and are 24″ x 18.” Apparently, they are a limited item and will not be ordered again.

I looked up a picture of these mats. They are very attractive. However, I really like stepping on soft towels after a shower.

18. Elements Bug Repelling Fans

These fans are sold in a set of two, contain a rechargeable battery, and can run for 10 hours. run time on a full charge.

This item seems perfect for summer. I love being outside at night but don’t like the bugs. Thes seem great for people who hold outdoor dinners or other evening events.

19. SnapPower GuideLight 2 LED Outlet Cover

These lights cover outlets without blocking the actual openings. Sold in packs of three, they are easy to install, do not require batteries, and turn on automatically in the dark. They provide enough light to serve as nightlights.

I have never seen these before but it sounds like a very smart idea! The outlets are “there anyway” and by leaving the actual openings free, the light does not take up a slot. The automatic sensors are also very helpful and good for saving energy.

20. Delta Children Dinosaur Bookcase

This bookcase is shaped like a dinosaur and contains shelves at different heights.

It’s a cute idea but I actually don’t like this bookcase. However, I find it is hard to know what kids will like.

Will you be buying any of these items for summer? Any other summer items you’d recommend?
