Steelers Resign Rudolph
S. Samek
There’s lots of talk going around as to who the Pittsburgh Steelers will have at quarterback next season.
After they released Russell Wilson. Justin Fields was expected to return. Yet that wasn’t the case as he signed a deal with the New York Jets.
They did however make a move to have a quarterback on the roster. They brought back Mason Rudolph. He signed a two-year deal worth $8 million with $4.5 million guaranteed. Rudolph was a Tennessee Titan last season after spending five seasons in Pittsburgh.
Rudolph played in eight games last season starting five. He completed 146 of 228 passes for 1530 yards, nine touchdowns and nine interceptions.
I think this is an ok backup qb option. Yet If Rudolph was the starter, I think they may need to keep looking. Weather that’s in free agency, or the draft I feel they need to keep addressing the quarterback situation. I think if I were to grade the move I would say C plus.
I guess as free agency continues, we will have to wait and see what the Steelers do as far as finding a starting quarterback.
