Steeler Monday 9/30/24
S. Samek
Sadly, it’s the first Steeler Monday after a loss of the 2024 season. Despite a bit of a second -half comeback, it wasn’t enough in a 27-24 loss to the Colts.
24 points is the highest total so far this season, which is good. Justin Fields went 22 of 34 for 312 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions. He also rushed for 55 yards on 10 carries and scored two more touchdowns. He was sacked four times though which is a bit rough.
George Pickens had seven receptions for 113 yards. Both of those are season-highs.
The defense seemed to let down a bit. After only allowing 26 points total in the prior three games, they allow 27 points in this one. They also didn’t record any turnovers and only two sacks.
I would hit the panic button yet; it is only just the first loss of the year. Yet it feels like a game we could and maybe should have won. However, we do still have first place in the AFC North so it can’t be all that bad, can it?
Next up a return home to host Dallas on October 6th, 2024, at 8:20 PM.
