Steeler Monday 9/29/25 Vs Minnesota Vikings

S. Samek

Let’s recap how the Pittsburgh Steelers did during their matchup with the Minnesota Vikings this past weekend.

As far as results go it was good in a 24-21 win over the Vikings. That moves them to 3-1 with back-to-back wins heading into their bye week this week.

However, it was a bit too close for comfort. Being outscored 15-3 in the fourth quarter and 15-10 during the second half isn’t a good look. However, as a bend, but don’t break Steeler type of win, this seems like par for the course.

Aaron Rogers went 18 of 22 passing for 200 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions. Kenneth Gainwell rushed for 99 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught six passes for 35 yards. DK Metcalf caught five passes for 126 yards and a touchdown. Chris Boswell was 1/2 on field goals but 3/3 on extra points.

The defense did sack Carson Wentz six times and have a pair of interceptions. However, Wentz did throw for 350 yards and two touchdowns. Justin Jefferson had 10 catches for 126 yards and Jordan Addison added 114 yards on four receptions. Not a good day for the pass defense.

It isn’t the most point given up by a Pittsburgh defense this year so that’s a positive as well. It’s just not reassuring to have a fourth quarter collapse.

There’s definitely work to do as the season wages on. However, it’s also good to get the win no matter how close, or ugly. That’s usually what the Steelers do is win the ugly games and this one is no exception.

Next up is a bye week before the first AFC North division game agaisnt Cleveland.
