Steeler Monday 9/15/25

The Pittsburgh Steelers fell 31-17 to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday September 14th, 2025. Let’s recap the action and breakdown the good and the bad from the loss.

The initial thoughts is what is happening on defense? Back-to-back games of giving up 30 plus points isn’t what this defense was advertised to be. They allowed 17 points in the final quarter alone which stings. Sam Darnold threw for 295 yards against them. Kenneth Walker III rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown while Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught eight passes for 103 yards. Another game allowing both a 100-yard rusher and 100-yard receiver isn’t great either.

Though they did sack Darnold two times and Nick Herbing and Jalen Ramsey each had an interception, so I guess it wasn’t all bad.

Aaron Rodgers completed 18 of 33 passes for 203 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. He was also sacked three times. Jaylen Warren rushed for 48 yards on 14 carries and caught four passes for 86 yards, both team best marks for this game. DK Metcalf caught the lone touchdown and had three catches for 20 yards.

Chris Boswell went three for three on field goals and continues to be a consistent source of points for the Steelers.

However, the offense has got to start scoring touchdowns if they want to win more games. Especially if the defense can’t stop anyone 17 points won’t win you a lot if any ball games.

It was an underwhelming game for sure, and one they probably should have won. Yet I wouldn’t say the season is over and let’s overreact after two games. They should be the favorites this week against New England. Hopefully they right the ship with a big win.
