Steeler Monday 10/7/24

After a loss last week, can the Pittsburgh Steelers get back on track against the Dallas Cowboys?
The game was delayed due to lightening.
However, the Steelers were also no match for the Cowboys in a 20-17 loss. They now fall to 3-2 on the season and tied for first in the AFC North after back-to-back losses.
T.J Watt collected his 100th career sack in the game and became the first Steeler to reach that number. However, the defense allowed Dak Prescott to throw for 352 yards, including the game-winning touchdown with just 20 seconds left. The Cowboys also rushed for 109 total yards against the Steelers. The Cowboys outgained the Steelers 445 to 222 in total yards.
Justin Fields went 15/27 passing for 131 yards and two touchdowns. He was sacked three times though. Najee Harris ran for 42 yards on 14 carries. He also caught two passes for 35 yards. Pat Freiermuth and Connor Heyward each caught a touchdown pass.
I would say be thankful it wasn’t worse for the number of yards the Steelers were outgained. However, it seems like another late start for the offense doomed them in the end. The defense is good, but they have to have opportunities to get off the field. The offense didn’t give them that chance last night.
Now we move on to a matchup with the Raiders this Sunday. Hopefully they can right the ship this week and not drop to .500.
