Director: Jon Watts

Starring: Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Robert Downey Jr.

Peter Parker balances his life as an ordinary high school student in Queens with his superhero alter-ego Spider-Man, and finds himself on the trail of a new menace prowling the skies of New York City.

What the bloody hell?! What have they done? Just like ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ turned the Thor series into slapstick comedy, ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ has just turned the Spider-Man series into slapstick.

40 Minutes into the film it was still senseless and unfunny joke upon senseless and unfunny joke. NOTHING interesting happened here… I mean nothing!! Peter Parker is an idiotic character just sitting around like a kid waiting for Christmas. He is childish and immature in every single frame. Tom Holland also looks much too young to portray the titular character, so much so that Spider-Man is not to be taken seriously – at all!

If the film was intended to be a spoof like the ‘Scary Movie’ films I’d understand. This is like a live action cartoon for (very young) kids. I haven’t been this annoyed with a movie in a while… well, not since ‘Thor: Ragnarok’…

And what the hell is Iron Man doing here? He has his own film series. Holy crap, this was bad!!!

Despite what I think, the film was a huge box office success earning $880 million on a $175 million budget. Guess everyone took their kids to watch it during school holidays…

Would I watch it again? Ugh, no, seriously!!
