Sorority Row (2009)

Director: Stewart Hendler
Starring: Briana Evigan, Rumer Willis, Carrie Fisher
A group of sorority sisters try to cover up the death of their house-sister after a prank gone wrong, only to be stalked by a serial killer.
‘Sorority Row’ is about the consequences of a prank gone wrong.
They’re young. They’re beautiful. They’re horny. And they’re ready for the slashing. The prank was actually a really sick joke, so maybe in that regard the girls got what they deserved. The kill scenes are quick and brutal.
We have our typical bunch of teens. There’s the all over the place in your face girls, the reserved ones, and off course the ones showing off the boobies. What would a slasher film be without boobs! And we have the bitch, Jessica. I thought Leah Pipes was excellent as Jessica.
‘Sorority Row’ is in the vein of ‘I know what you did last summer’, where the killer comes back a year later to avenge the wrongdoers. During the twist reveal, I think I would have preferred a supernatural element. This reveal deems the killings not all that justified.
The film even has a few funny moments too. It also has a very good soundtrack. Look, if its slasher you’re after, there are better films out there, but ‘Sorority Row’ is still a good, well made film.
‘Sorority Row’ earned $27.2 million on a $12.5 million budget.
Would I watch it again? Yes.
