Happy Xmas

…

“Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” is a song written by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, released in 1971 as a single by John & Yoko/Plastic Ono Band with the Harlem Community Choir. It was the seventh single release by Lennon outside of his work with the Beatles. Originally a protest song about the Vietnam War, “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” has since become a Christmas standard, and is frequently covered by other artists. As far as I can determine, the abbreviation of Xmas for Christmas is as John Lennon had written it.

Over at the WordPress Weekly Photo challenge, this week’s topic is Converge and the author asks us to explore the ways lines and shapes can converge in interesting ways through photography. He says you can take the theme in a literal or an abstract direction, as you see fit. There are converging lines in the second photo but more importantly, the combination of photos converge towards a point. I think I’ve covered his instructions.

Thank you for your interest in my blog over the past year. In 37 weeks of active posting this year (yes, I take a lot of time off) and 73 posts, I hope you’ve seen a few posts and photos to entertain and interest you. Have a happy and safe Christmas and holiday period. I should be back next year.

Until then, remember: “Candid photography is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.”
