S. Samek

Pittsburgh Pirates number one rated prospect was chosen as the best pitching prospect according to the to the from office executives’ poll. Skenes got 59 percent of the vote finishing ahead of the Phillies Andrew Painter, who finished second with just 12 percent of the votes.

It’s still early in his career, but it’s nice to see him continue to generate hype. Hopefully the hype can lead to success at the MLB level and the Pirates finally develop an ace from a draft pick.
