Paul Skenes made an announcement today. He is going to be joining Team USA as a pitcher for the 2026 World Baseball Classic.

This is the first time he will pitch in the World Baseball Classic as it’s the first tournament since he was drafted in 2023.

The rest of the roster for Team USA hasn’t been made official. However, Aaron Judge will be the captain, and Mark DeRosa will be the manager.

Team USA finished as the runner-up to Japan in 2023. Could the addition of Skenes to the lineup change that? Will they give him enough run support? How will he fare against the best in the world?

It should be exciting to see and I can’t wait for the classic to begin.
