Skenes Selected to Start All-Star Game

S. Samek

Not long after a record setting performance in Milwaukee, Paul Skenes has been named the National League’s starting pitcher for the All-Star Game.

Skenes becomes just the fourth rookie pitcher to start an All-star game and is the first sense 1995 when Hideo Nomo made the start.

He’s the fifth starting pitcher from Pittsburgh to start the game, but the first one sense 1975 Jerry Ruess to do so.

I can’t wait to see him pitch against some of the American League’s best to see how he stacks up. he should bring lots of attention to the game and hopefully the ratings numbers are good because of it.

It’s a well-earned honor. Though I can’t wait to see who the American League names as their starter to oppose Skenes. My picks would either be Tarik Skubal, or Garrett Crochet.
