ANALYSIS

* This was a close five set close where four of the sets was separated by three points. * The team with the higher points differential and hitting % will generally win the match.  This is a rare case where this did not happen.  Sheffield Hallam hit an incredible 37% as a team (possibly highest of the season) and when compared to Polonia’s 24%, it should be been an easier win. * Sheffield even had the advantage on points with a differential with +24 points compared to Polonia’s +18 points. * In cases like these, statistics must be compared within the individual sets themselves because one bad set can skew the overall match performance.  The team attack by set shows the team with the higher hitting % has won the match with the exception of set 2.  Sheffield hitting % in set 4 was an astounding 67% with 17 kills.  This would have skyrocketed their overall hitting %. * A comeback from Sheffield being two sets down and 10-2 down in the third set was the introduction of setter Alex Jenkins and outside Jordan Dalrymple.  This was a good substitution by the coach Keith Trenam where the statistics shows that Alex ran the offence a little better (assist % of 51%) compared to starting setter Jim Miller (45%).  Third choice outside Jordan Dalrymple also did well by hitting 56%.  Both have surely made their case for inclusion in the starting line-up in future matches.
