Season of the Witch (2011)

Director: Dominic Sena

Starring: Nicolas Cage, Ron Perlman, Claire Foy

Fourteenth century knights transport a suspected witch to a monastery, where monks deduce her powers could be the source of the Black Plague.

Hated by critics, I once again disagree with them. I found the film interesting enough to keep my attention. This is an action packed horror thriller. Some visual effects are great, others not so much, but in general I enjoyed the look and feel of the film.

The film proves Christianity – or any other religion for that matter – is the core of all evil. I will completely understand Christians not liking the film, as the film can be seen as a vendetta against the church. Interestingly enough, I agree with them in the context of the film.

The effects towards the end were maybe a bit too much, but this is nevertheless a film I enjoyed for the adventure element.
