Schreiner Names Coach

Yesterday, Schreiner announced their new Head Volleyball Coach in Jeremiah Tiffin. Coach Tiffin was recently the head coach at the University of North Dakota (DI) but after a 1-win season, the program decided to make a change. Bringing in an experienced head coach should benefit the Mountaineers and the fact that Coach Tiffin has Texas roots will only help in recruiting.

Prior to North Dakota, Coach Tiffin was the head coach at Our Lady of the Lake (San Antonio and next to Trinity University) for four years winning their conference title each year. Before that, Coach Tiffin was an assistant at Baylor where he also graduated (both Bachelors and Masters). I guess we shouldn’t hold it against him that he went to Baylor. Well. You shouldn’t. I will. Go Frogs!

Schreiner is coming off back-to-back 4-win seasons but they have been showing a great deal of improvement and have played some of the best teams in the SCAC very tough. It will be interesting to see if Coach Tiffin can continue this trend and turn Schreiner into a SCAC power. As I wrote in my SCAC Statistics Loss article, the Mountaineers will have the least amount of statistic loss going into the fall if everyone that should come back does.

I believe this is the last open head coaching position in Region X so we should be good to go for the fall. Best of luck to Schreiner and Coach Tiffin moving forward!
