Say hello to Einstein Voice Assistant – Translating words into Actions!

Have you heard about the Einstein Voice Assistant already? I’m hoping you have because if not, you’re definitely missing out on good stuff my friend!

Watch a quick demo from Dreamforce ’18 about what Einstein Voice is capable of here. This feature is currently in Beta, and not all the features demo-ed at Dreamforce all available currently.

If you’re interested in learning more about the current capabilities of the Einstein voice assistant you can watch the demo from last Dreamforce(’19) here.

What I’m here to share with you is how you can get your hands on this feature!

[UPDATE JUNE 2020]

Before you continue, I’d like to inform you that Einstein Voice Assistant is scheduled to be retired for good on July 10, 2020.

Let’s roll

Step 1: First, you need to sign up for a special Developer Edition org that has Einstein Voice Assistant feature.

Step 2: Once you’re logged into the org, you will have to turn on Einstein Voice Skills from the Setup. Setup -> Search ‘Voice Skills‘ -> Einstein Voice Skills -> Click Get Started -> Turn on Einstein Voice Skills.

Step 3: Next step is to allow users to access this feature. And for that we will create a permission set.

  • Setup -> Permission Sets -> Click New

  • Give your Perm. set a label and set ‘License’ to Salesforce, because this feature is only available to the users with Salesforce license. Click Save.

  • Click on System Permissions, in the ‘System’ section.

  • Click Edit and select Einstein Assistant User and click Save.

  • Now assign this permission set to yourself.

Step 4: Now here it gets a bit more interesting which probably might not have expected. In order to use Einstein voice assistant, you have to create and activate ‘Skill sets’. A skill determines the action a user can take with their voice. To create a skill set:

  • Go to Setup and search for Einstein Voice Skills.

  • Click New to create a Skill set and give it a Name.

  • From the Skill Types section on the left, drag Create into the middle of the page.

  • Enter Create Lead for Skill Name and select ‘New Lead’ from the Action picklist.

  • Now click on Activate(top right corner) and assign the Skill set to the your profile(System Admin) and hit Save.

Step 5: Add the “Einstein Assistant” to the mobile navigation from Setup -> Salesforce navigation.

And we’re all set to use the assistant on our mobile app.

Step 6: Open your Salesforce Mobile App(download it if you already haven’t and login with your Einstein voice enabled org.)

Once you’re in the the mobile, you will see something like this:

Now using the ‘Create Lead’ skill you can quickly create a Lead.

Roll, Camera and Demo

After using Einstein Voice Assistant, you will probably feel that this is nowhere close to a voice assistant if compared with Siri, Cortana etc.

I see this a start of something new and exciting in Salesforce AI products which is surely going to get better over the consequent releases so don’t lose interest because there is more good stuff coming up on this and I’ll keep you guys posted on that! 😀

Hope you find this one useful! See you in the next one! ✌ Thank you for being an awesome reader! Subscribe to this blog for receiving all the latest updates straight to your inbox. 🙂
