Savings at Costco for May/June 2025

May 14, 2025
7 min read

I like to share some of the discounts each month (Costco Deals for September); (Costco Deals for October); (Final (?) November Savings at Costco); (January 2025 Deals at Costco); (February 2025 Discounts at Costco)) but am not always able to do so, depending  on my schedule. I made an effort to do so for May and June. Here are some of the sales for May 14-June 8. As usual, I focus mostly on food products but also included a few non edible items.

1. Sketchers Women’s Virtue Swift Fit Hands Free Shoes ($7 off)

One discounted item this month are these sneakers that slip on.

I love Sketchers. Since a terrible accident several years ago, I have stuck to sneakers (or occasionally sandals). I reviewed a pair of Sketchers sneakers in the past (Product Review: Sketchers Summit Sneakers). In addition to the very reasonable prices at Costco, I like the limited options (Freedom of or from choice?). Sketchers seems to have a seemingly endless variety of options and I find it overwhelming. I am also drawn to the hands free sneakers because I like slip on shoes but prefer the stability of sneakers.

2. Samsonite Blackstone 2-piece Hardside Expandable Spinner Luggage Set ($50 off)

Features of this luggage set include an adjustable handle, a top mounted hook, an expansion option for the checked suitcase, and an organization system. It comes in a variety of colors (silver; blue; black; plum).

I don’t have much use for more than a single suitcase as I never go away for too long and pack lightly enough to avoid checking luggage. However, this set looks very nice. (Kind of irrelevant but I always think it’s funny when I see luggage sold in airports…as though someone will show up at the airport with armfuls of clothes, see the luggage in the store, and think, “oh, *that* is a good idea!”).

3. Crest Pro-Health Advanced Mouthwash ($3 off)

This mint mouthwash is sold in a three pack of 33.8-ounce bottles. It contains fluoride and is alcohol free.

Three large bottles seems like a lot of mouthwash! I have never liked mouthwash because it is overly powerful and dries my mouth out. However, maybe alcohol free would prevent the latter problem. For those who use it, it seems like as a good thing of which to keep soare bottles in the cabinet.

4. Pantene Multi-Tasker 10 Shampoo or Conditioner ($3 off)

Members can save on shampoo and/or conditioner this month. Bottles are 38.2 ounces.

I am not picky about shampoo and conditioner. I have reviewed one kind that I have bought at Costco (Product Review: Shea Moisure 100% Extra Virgin Coconut Oil Shampoo and Conditioner) but have never tried the Pantene variety.

5. La Croix Sparkling Water ($2.50 off)

Sold in packs of 24 12-ounce cans, this variety pack (12 lime; 6 lemon; 6 grapefruit) of sparkling water is on sale this month. It is calorie and sugar free.

I have never tried La Croix. I have written before about how I have always been disappointed by sparkling water due to expecting and wanting it to taste like juice. However, now that I have less tolerance for sweet foods and drinks, I often find juice overly sweet. Therefore, think I really need to try sparkling water again. These flavors also sound good, especially the grapefruit.

6. Spindrift Sparkling Water ($5 off)

An almost identical item to the La Croix is the Spindrift water. It is sold in packs of 30 12-ounce cans and contains the same flavors (10 lime; 10 lemon; 10 grapefruit). It is also calorie and sugar free.

It seems odd to me that both of these brands would be sold at Costco at all (Freedom of or from choice?), let alone be on sale at the same time.

7. Sensible Portions Sea Salt Garden Veggie Straws ($3 off)

A snack food on discount this month are these veggie straws. Each box contains 42 one-ounce bags.

I have never eaten these straws, despite thinking that they look good. I am not a big chip eater so I’d prefer to just eat real vegetables.

8. Snack factory Pretzel Crisps ($3.80 off)

These pretzels provide another snack to buy at a discount this month. Bags are 28 ounces.

I don’t eat many pretzels but occasionally eat them with peanut butter (Product Review:Kirkland organic creamy peanut butter), guacamole (Product Review: Good Foods Chunky Guacamole), or hummus. I am not picky about my pretzels so these would be fine and the flat shape seems like a convenient “vehicle” for the dips.

9. Late July Snacks Organic Sea Salt and Lime Tortilla Chips ($2.10 off)

Another snack offered at a discount this month are these tortilla chips. Bags are 22 ounces.

I don’t eat many chips because I prefer sweet snacks. However, they are good to have in the house to serve with dips as a snack or before a meal. I remember when lime flavored chips was a novel item (I think I was in middle or high school). I don’t think I’ve actually ever tried them but they sound good.

10. Tattooed Chef Organic Acai Bowls ($4 off)

These vegan, gluten-free bowls contain an acai smoothie blend and granola. Boxes contain six  6.25-ounce bowls.

I have never had an acai bowl but they are appealing. I love yogurt (Product Review: Kirkland Organic Greek Yogurt) and granola (Product Review: Kirkland Ancient Grains granola) and yogurt with fruit. Therefore, the combination of the three seems like something I’d really like as long as it is not too sweet. This brand is not kosher so it’s not one I’d buy (unlike Sambazon) but it sounds good.

11. Nestle Drumstick ($3 off)

An ice cream treat in the coupon book this month are these cones. Packs contain 16 cones in three varieties (Vanilla; Vanilla Fudge; Vanilla Caramel).

I have mentioned several times that I don’t really like ice cream novelties. However, I do remember occasionally liking Drumsticks, largely because I am weird and like soggy cones, which these have (I saw a few reviews of these cones and someone complained about the sogginess… I’m not sure what one would expect given that they are filled with ice cream). I don’t buy them because I prefer regular ice cream. However, for those who like novelties (and the built-in portion control), they are good to have around for summer.

12. Amylu Organic Caramelized Onion & Aged White Cheddar Chicken Burgers ($4 off)

These frozen burgers are sold in boxes of eight 4-ounce burgers.

Not for me!

13. Kevin’s Natural Foods Paleo Cilantro Lime Chicken ($3.50 off)

Another main meal option on sale this month is this chicken. It is sold in 32-ounce containers.

Another one not for me but reviews tend to be positive.

14. Ensure Original Vanilla Nutrition Shake ($10 off)

Costco is selling these nutrition shakes at a discount this month. Packages contain 30 8- ounce individual bottles.

I have tried several types of nutrition drinks. I have found most too sweet. However, for the many people who need the drinks, it is a good deal, as they can be quite expensive. I did recently try the plant-protein Ensure and like it very much. I would like Costco to sell it!

15. Gushers Fruit Flavored Snacks  ($3.90 off)

Sold in boxes of 42 0.8-ounce bags, these fruit snacks come in two flavors (tropical; strawberry).

I have not had a Gusher in decades but I remember when they were a real novelty item..I liked fruit snacks but I don’t think we ever bought Gushers. I am surprised that they are still popular, given the ever increasing emphasis on natural foods.

16. Wildroots Coastal Berry Trail Mix ($2.50 off)

These 26-ounce bags of trail mix contain almonds, cashews, cranberries, yogurt chips, and blueberries.

I don’t eat much premade trail mix because they often contain some ingredients that I do not like too much. I prefer to make my own. However, premade is certainly convenient. This combination sounds pretty good, especially because I like both almonds and cashews very much and I always like (but rarely see) yogurt chips.

17. Jojo’s Dark Chocolate Pistachio Almond Cranberry Bites ($3 off)

These 14.4 ounce bags found in the snack aisle contain bites consisting of dark chocolate, pistachios, almonds, and cranberries.

I can imagine these candies being very popular due to being sweet but also containing healthy ingredients. However, I do not find them appealing. I have eaten chocolate pistachio candy in the past and did not like the combination (I really only like the combination of chocolate with peanuts or almonds (Product Review: Klein’s Passover Dark Chocolate Almonds)). As much I like many items made with chocolate, I think these bites actually would be better without chocolate.

18. La Boulangere Pains au Chocolat ($3 off)

These individually wrapped, frozen, chocolate croissants from France are sold in bags of 16 croissants. Each pastry is 1.59 ounces and free of artificial flavoring or coloring and high fructose corn syrup.

These are not kosher and I don’t love croissants. However, for those who do, being able to have one pastry at a time is a good option.

19. Season Sardine Fillets ($3 off)

Another item on sale this month are these sardines. Packages contain six 4.4-ounce cans of fish. The sardines are wild caught, skinless, boneless, and packed in 100% Olive Oil.

I have never had a sardine (well, except maybe “hidden” in Caesar dressing). Although I enjoy eating canned tuna (Product Review: Kirkland Albacore tuna) and salmon (Product Review: Kirkland Wild Alaskan Pink Salmon), the idea of sardines is not appealing. I have read that they are very healthy but I just can’t imagine eating them.

20. Kraft Singles American Cheese ($4 off)

This classic cheese is sold in four pound packages. The entire package contains 96 slices.

I have written before about the large variety of cheese sold at Costco (“Strong” and “weak” sections of Costco). I wasn’t considering Kraft in this post but I know that for some, it is the cheese of choice. I don’t eat Kraft cheese but I do like basic American cheese (Product Review: kosher American cheese), often more than even “fancier” cheeses.

Will you be buying any of these discounted items this month? Any others in the coupon book that you plan to buy?
