Saturday, Sept 24 Match Day!

Back from the beach. Can I ask if a shower after a day at the beach is one of the great pleasures of life?

Flip on Southwestern/TLU. Good guys up a few in the third but quickly give it up while I watch. I checked to see if there is a live stat link and I can’t find one. I come back and the good guys are up again but quickly give up the lead as I watch. I finally turn the stream off in disgust. Turn it back on later and find that the good guys have won 26 to 24. Up 2-1.

Howard Payne wins at LETU. First win in conference first HPU.

SU beats TLU in 5-sets. Yes, I did watch the fifth set. Great match for Emma White.

SU takes the late match against St Thomas. Two good wins for this struggling team and it means they are top 3 in conference.

CMS sweeps La Verne on the road. It was close but CMS will only lose in conference to themselves. Of course, Cal Lu is playing much better.

Random Thoughts: I’ll do my best with updates but I plan to be on the beach today. I really wanted to go to the Sul Ross State/UTD match today but I guess I’ll have to live (somehow).

All four conferences are playing today.

The Centenary pod is interesting because there are a number of teams there that are fighting for the last spot or two in the conference tournament. Of course, Trinity and Colorado College are there, too. They shouldn’t have any issues with their matches. (They don’t play each other.)

The St Thomas pod has three of the top teams in Southwestern, St Thomas and TLU. All of their matches will be close and could go either way. A #2 seed is possible for whomever goes 2-0.

Sul Ross State/UTD – I did really want to go to this one. UTD should hold home court.

CMS/La Verne – In theory, this is the most likely match for CMS to lose the rest of the way. I think they will know that and play to the abilities. CMS for the win.

Puget Sound/Pacific – No idea on this one. I like Pacific at home but I’ll take UPS.
