Saturday, Feb. 6 Match Day!

Updates: PLU takes the first set 25-19. I’m sneaking looks when my wife leaves the room.

PLU takes the second set 25-16. Pretty commanding set.

Impressive sweep for PLU tonight.

I’m at the computer for the first time tonight. I got to watch the match in the background with the sound off so no in-game biting commentary from me tonight. I will say that I was struck by the number of errors from Puget Sound. Looking at the box score there was only a 6 point difference in points between the two teams. This is despite the fact it was a sweep and UPS never got to 20 points in the three sets. Bottom line, UPS can’t commit 23 attack errors and 7 service errors against a team like PLU. That’s enough points for an entire set and a 5-0 run to start the next set. It’s early and these teams just have to be happy to be playing so I think things will get cleaned up. Lot of power from both teams. I’ll have more tomorrow when I do the Weekly Wrap-Up but for now, I’m going to bed.

Random Thoughts: Check out yesterday’s “Match Day!” for what I wrote on UPS/PLU. It’s the only match on the schedule so I suggest you watch it. It was a good one yesterday.
