Sasaki Chooses Dodgers

S. Samek

Roki Sasaki was the top international free agent this offseason. Many teams were trying to sign him and bolster up their rotations. Toronto, LA and San Diego seemed to be the top three choices. Now we have a decision on where he will sign dropping that list from three teams to one.

With little surprise he ends up in LA as a Dodger. This signing makes the defending world series champs better. Sasaki should also be considered an early rookie of the year candidate heading into the 2025 season.

It should be interesting to see how LA puts together a rotation with the surplus of arms they have. It should also be interesting to see how the rest of free agency shakes out. Will Toronto and San Diego find other starting pitching after missing out on Sasaki? Will LA sign more free agents as well, or are they done?

Lots to consider moving forward as the offseason continues and spring training gets set to start. Yet if you’re a Dodger fan you have to be excited about this signing. If you’re the rest of the league, well good luck.
