Region Leaders

I threw some region leaders into my Weekly Wrap-Up yesterday but the statistics hadn’t been updated for awhile. Well, they got updated through yesterday it seems, BUT they are wrong. The double-headers really seem to be confusing the database as these matches go in 4-times for certain teams. They are not wrong for everyone but it’s easy to catch because Sul Ross State gets this incorrect treatment so the Annika Canaba Triple-Doubles are inflated. Regardless, I’m taking what they give me as I tend to look at the “per set” statistics so any errors won’t impact the below too much. I also report the correct Canaba Triple-Double number.

My cover photo is of Ashtyn Butler (George Fox) who is third in the nation in Blocks per Set with 1.54. Annika Canaba still leads the nation in Triple-Doubles with (by my count) 5. Lauren Crabtree (Southwestern) is just behind her with 4. Kaylyn Latin (St. Thomas) would be 5th in Digs per Set (6.82) if eligible. That’s the group that remains in the Top 5 on the national level.

On the team level, UT-Dallas is currently 3rd in Assists per Set (13.59) and 4th in Kills per Set (14.45). George Fox is first in the nation in Blocks per Set with 2.73.

Looking at the statistics I was surprised to see Redlands mentioned. They ended up playing a match against Azusa Pacific and will play Life Pacific College later in the week.
