Raleigh Starts Quest for Record Breaking Home Run

S. Samek

Cal Raleigh is having a great season. That season could get even better if he breaks a Major League record.

Raleigh hit is 47th home run of the season in a 7-3 loss to the New York Mets during the Little League Classic game on Sunday August 17th, 2025.

While 47 home runs lead the league currently, it sits one behind a Major League record. Salvadore Perez of the Kansa City Royals has the Major League record for home runs as a primary catcher with 48 during the 2021 season.

The Mariners start a series on the road in Philadelphia tonight, as Raleigh gets his first crack at tying, or even breaking the record with a multi-home run night. Will he be able to do, so, or will the Phillies pitching staff keep him out of the record books? Tune in as his quest for the record begins tonight. Game one starts at 6:45 PM EDT and the starting pitcher for Philadelphia is Ranger Suárez.
