Raleigh Breaks Record with Two Home Run Game

Cal Raleigh broke the home run record for primary catchers on Sunday Augst 24th, 2025. Raleigh hit a pair of homers for this 48th and 49th of the season in an 11-4 Seattle win over the A’s.

Th pair of home runs breaks the former record of 48 by Salvador Perez of the Kansas City Royals. The two blasts were his first two sense he tied the record during the Little League Classic Game on Sunday August 17th, 2025.

Now that he’s broken the record for catchers Raleigh is chasing the home run record for switch-hitters. This record is held by Mickey Mantle with 54. He could also challenge for Ken Griffey Jr’s Seattle record with 56. Though he did pass Giffey Jr’s total for multi- homer games in a season with Seattle. Raleigh now has nine games with multiple round trippers this season.

Raleigh continues to lead the league in home runs as well, and his next one would have him be the first player in MLB to reach 50 this season.

It’s been an excellent season so far for Raleigh and I can’t wait to see how many home runs he will hit this season.
