R.I.P.D. (2013)

Director: Robert Schwentke

Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Bacon

A recently slain cop joins a team of undead police officers working for the Rest in Peace Department and tries to find the man who murdered him.

Surprisingly, this was more enjoyable than I anticipated. Yes, the dialogue is crap. Yes, the humor is downright silly. I just don’t know exactly why I found this as entertaining as I did. Maybe it was the amazing visual effects.  Maybe it was the unique story. Maybe it was the ‘City of Angels’-ish love story. Maybe it was the devilishly handsome Ryan Reynolds. Whatever it was, it worked for me and I enjoyed this. (The usually good Jeff Bridges was annoying, though.)
