Quick Change (1990)

Directors: Howard Franklin, Bill Murray
Starring: Bill Murray, Geena Davis, Randy Quaid, Jason Robards
Three thieves successfully rob a New York City bank, but making the escape from the city proves to be almost impossible.
I think the less I say about ‘Quick Change’ the better. I know there’s a big audience who finds this funny. I found it unfunny, unnatural, unrealistic and annoying, with idiotic characters.
Bill Murray stars as Grimm, a criminal who masterminds a bank robbery. Murray once again delivers comedy in his dry sense of humour he has become known for. Dressed as a clown, Grimm robs a bank in such a casual manner that everyone believed it to be a joke at first. Two of his accomplices, Loomis (Randy Quaid) and Phyllis (Geena Davis) are in the bank as well.
Thanks to clever planning, the robbery is a success. No thanks to Loomis, their cover is blown due to a silly mistake and they soon find themselves on the run. However, leaving town is an entirely different matter, having to overcome one obstacle after the next. I found most of these obstacles more silly than funny. No, not slapstick; just silly.
I rest my case. I didn’t like this movie one bit.
As it turns out, the film also didn’t manage to recuperate its budget at the box office. Again, I rest my case…
Would I watch it again? No, just no.
