PWHL Coming to Vancouver

S. Samek

The PWHL is announcing a new expansion team for the 2025-2026 season.

Vancouver is set to become the seventh team to join the league it was announced today.

Pacific Coliseum will be the home of the Vancouver team it was also announced. However, they don’t have a nickname yet. Hopefully it’s a good one when they do announce it. I also can’t wait to see a formal logo and jersey for the team when that’s announced.

Vancouver becomes the first expansion team sense the launch of the PWHL.

It’s nice to see the league expand and add a new team. Vancouver makes a lot of sense as the first expansion city for the PWHL. It did really well when they held at game during the PWHL Takeover Tour where it drew over 19,000 fans, which was the best attended game of the tour.

An expansion draft is in the works for the team as well as figuring out where they will select in the PWHL draft this upcoming June. Details on those should arrive in the coming weeks.

So, lots to keep an eye on between the new expansion team and the upcoming playoffs. Stay tuned for updates on both.
