Director: Sonny Laguna, Tommy Wiklund

Starring: Thomas Lennon, Jenny Pellicer, Nelson Franklin

All hell breaks loose when a strange force animates the puppets up for auction at a convention, setting them on a bloody killing spree that’s motivated by an evil as old as time.

Unbelievably, this franchise is still going almost three decades after the original. And now is the time to kill it, as there obviously is nothing more to tell…

So, a bunch of people visit the 30th Anniversary Toulon Convention, and soon they are chopped and diced by the demonic puppets. (By the way, where does all these new puppets come from??). There really is no plot here. Once the convention is over, the film plays like an experiment in practical effects (for which I admire them, by the way). The film has no substance. It’s just kill, kill, kill and gross practical effects… and boobies and more boobies… Oh, and the killings are now attributed to hate crimes. Oh, what next…!

‘The Littlest Reich’ felt more like a mockery of the franchise instead of an actual sequel. Like the ‘Scary Movie’ parody films. The dialogue is really bad and inappropriate – especially from the police. And am I supposed to care about the characters being killed? They’re only here to add to the body count anyway. They are officially running out of ideas for this franchise. Oh, how I reminisce the original ‘Puppet Master’…

If you switch off all of your brain cells, you might enjoy this as a mindless slasher with good effects. Uhm, then again, no, it was bad. A real B-movie.

Would I watch it again? No.
