PULP – Gotta Have Love (2025)

Pulp has just unveiled their new single, “Got to Have Love,” marking the second release from their forthcoming album More, set to debut on June 6, 2025. This track signifies a significant return for the band, as More will be their first studio album in 24 years.

Frontman Jarvis Cocker describes “Got to Have Love” as a “slightly hysterical song that tries to talk about love as I see it now.” He candidly reflects on his past discomfort with expressing love, stating, “Love is a word I was unable to say until I was approaching 40… I have now learnt how to say it whilst keeping a straight face.”

Musically, the song blends disco-infused rhythms with dramatic strings and snare-heavy drums, creating a passionate plea for embracing love. The accompanying music video, directed by Cocker, features vibrant footage from a 1977 Wigan Casino documentary, celebrating the liberating power of dance.

“Got to Have Love” follows the April release of “Spike Island,” the lead single from More. The album is dedicated to the late bassist Steve Mackey, who passed away in 2023.
