Well, it has certainly been a long time since I updated this blog! For the people (ok, person…hi Dad!) Who may have missed my posts, was I in a part of the world without Costco stores? No but, unfortunately circumstances made it difficult and I took a hiatus. But I’m excited to be back and reviewing some different things and maybe even adding a (funny ..well to me) post on a theme.

So, first review back has to be a food. And it is Angie’s Boom Chicka Pop sweet and salty kettle corn.

I have not had popcorn in a long time. Sure, before I kept kosher, I used to eat microwave popcorn with friends, loved Smartfood cheddar cheese popcorn, bought huge bags of very salty buttered popcorn at BJ’s (ssshhhh….don’t tell Costco) and occasionally ate caramel popcorn (but found it too sweet after a few bites). My family has been eating this popcorn for years and raved about it. I never ate it until this past winter and wow was I missing out. It is delicious! Such a great balance of plain, salty, and sweet pieces without any taste dominating when eaten together. And then, if you want a specific taste for a few bites, you can choose based on the color…slightly yellow for the saltier pieces and slightly brown for the sweeter ones.

Because the flavors are not overwhelming, it is easy to eat a lot of this popcorn at once but it is not too unhealthy as compared to many snacks that contain more fat, salt, sugar, and calories. In addition, because it is relatively light and low in calories, you can feel like you are eating a lot (good for when you just feel like munching) without getting overly full or overdoing the junk for the day.

Costco usually has this popcorn on sale BOGO a few times/year but even if you only get one at regular price, it is worth it!

Have you tried this popcorn? What do you think?
