Problem Solved! Cloning Screens

MASS PRACTICE

I am a big believer that you need mass practice to be good at anything (see blog post).  As an addendum, I also believe that having a experience improves your skill level and processes.  It is that deep knowledge and experience, gained only by mass practice, that can help with your workflow and the ability to problem solve.

PROBLEM 1

I went back home in London for Christmas and I had to produce a mid-season report for UWIC Archers.  I had no desktop computer and I only took my netbook home with me.  Experience now informs me that having to navigate a huge spreadsheet with 53 worksheets within a 11.5 inch screen was not ideal.  I then had the idea to clone the screen on the big flat screen TV (pictured below).  Problem solved.

PROBLEM 2

Fast forward two months later and I had another similar problem: viewing StatEasy (only installed on the netbook) was sometimes a bit tricky especially when building a playlist of clips.  Two minutes later, the netbook was hooked up to my desktop (pictured below).  Problem solved.

CONCLUSION

Although the above was a very simple example of the benefits of mass practice and experience, I thought it was a nice visual representation of it.  It also coincides with the aim to integrate more photos into the blog (see blog post).
