Pro Volleyball Federation Hosts 2025 Season Draft
S. Samek
The Pro Volleyball Federation held its draft for the 2025 season. It’s the second annual draft and featured five rounds of selections.
The Indy Ignite held the first overall pick, as they entered the league in expansion this past off season. The Atlanta Vibe would pick second after making a trade with the Columbus Fury.
The Orlando Valkyries selected third, followed by the Vegas Thrill, San Diego Mojo, Atlanta Vibes and Grand Rapids Rise. The defending champion Omaha Supernovas then held the eighth overall pick.
Well turns out the Ignite didn’t want the first overall pick. They traded it to the Atlanta Vibe. With the selection Merritt Beason an opposite hitter from the University of Nebraska
Indy dropped to the second pick. They selected Anna DeBeer an outside hitter from the University of Louisville.
Orlando took outside hitter Norah Sis from Creighton.
Vegas then selected outside hitter Camryn Hannah from Penn State University.
San Diego then selected from the University of Wisconsin, Devyn Robinson an opposite hitter.
Atlanta then picked again and selected Khori Louis from Florida State University, making her the first middle back off the board.
Then the Grand Rapids Rise took middle back Raven Colvin from Perdue.
To conclude the first round the Supernova’s selected Toyosi Onabanjo of Kanas a middle back.
The draft then went on for four more rounds with eight picks per round for a total of 40 overall.
It’s exciting to welcome a new draft class into the Professional Volleyball Federation. I can’t wait to see the impact they will make this season with their new teams.
