Please don’t…(Part 4 of 4)
Time for the last post about employee complaints about customers. I covered the first 15 (Please don’t…(Part 1 of 4); Please don’t…(Part 2 of 4);Please don’t…(Part 3 of 4)) and here are the final five.
16. Leaving carts around
It really is amazing how many people just leave the carts. Now, it it definitely better to leave empty carts than one with food and other products in them, but it is not that hard to bring them back to the cart stations.
17. Not using common sense at the gas station
Or, how about not using common sense anywhere…??
18. Being distracted by your phone
I see people on the phone at checkouts all the time. For example, I recall one time in a grocery store when a woman had about two carts full of groceries. She was therefore not paying efficiently, not helping bag the groceries, and would not even put them in the cart when they were bagged. And of course, being on the phone while someone is trying to help is just rude! Really, is there a way to make someone helping you feel less important than to not even give them the courtesy of paying attention to their assistance? Of course there are rare emergencies. However, most of the time, it is very clear (and we know how loudly everyone seems to talk on cell phones–even in public) that it is not an emergency.
19. Making a mess
In general, I find Costco to be a pretty clean store. Some stores are just unpleasant to go to, due to there being products left out all over the place (some Macy’s and most Walmarts, I’m looking at you…) That said, as I mentioned in the first post in this series, I do frequently see those sample cups left out all over the place (in carts, on top of other products in other aisles, in the parking lot), open packages of food that is NOT for sampling, and clothing that is just thrown pack on the pile.
20. Making the same old jokes
I didn’t even understand the joke mentioned here! Also, I have heard the same jokes for my entire life by different members of my family and I know I tell the same jokes too, so repeat jokes doesn’t bother me. But, yes, I guess when you hear the same lines (if they are like the one mentioned, to refer to them as “jokes” seems awfully generous), it would get very old.
What do you think of these complaints? Are you guilty of any?
