Pittsburgh Steelers 2024 Draft Preview

With the upcoming NFL draft what will the Pittsburgh Steelers do? They hold the number 20 pick in the first round.

Do they go with an offense, or defense pick? According to this article OT, IOL, WR, CB and DT are the five biggest needs. Though it was also said that a starting center could be a need as well. Though that may come from someone in house switching rather than drafting a center.

Seems like mock drafts vary as well. Graham Barton, Jackson Powers-Johnson, Amarius Mims, Tyler Guyton,Troy Fautanu all being names selected, or in consideration of being drafted in the first round. There’s also been reports of them trading up to get CB Quinyon Mitchell of Toledo.

The pick could also be traded for help at WR with Brandon Aiyuk being a rumored trade target. They also could be looking to acquire Courtland Sutton in a trade with Denver.

Quarterback might be an interesting choice too, but I doubt they use the first-round pick on one. Even after not picking up Justin Fields fifth year option I doubt they consider it a position of need. Though they did host Michael Penix Jr for a workout. However, will he be around to select at number 20?

So the big question is do they go offense, or defense with the pick?
