Pittsburgh Riveters Inaugural Game

The Pittsburgh Riveters SC are brand new to the USL W League for the 2025 season. Now the season is ready to start, and they hosted their inaugural game against the Cleveland Force on Friday May 16th, 2025. How did it go?

It started off strong as the game was a sellout with over 6,000 fans there to witness the game.

Pittsburgh outshot Cleveland 13-4 and nearly had a 1-0 lead. A shot by Piper Coffield off of a second half corner kick went into the net. However, it was disallowed due to contact with the Cleveland goalie Griselda Revolorio.

Neither team would score, and the game would end in a 0-0 draw.

Pauline Nelles made two saves and record the first clean sheet in Riveters history. Coffield was named player of the game for her efforts in the draw.

It looks like it was a successful night for the Riveters. Looks like they have a strong defense and goalkeeping. Hopefully it results in some wins in the future.

The next game is Saturday May 24th, 2025, on the road against Flower City 1872 at 6 PM. Can they get the first win in franchise history? Tune in and find out.
