Pirates Send Shelton Packing

S. Samek

The Pittsburgh Pirates are currently in the midst of a seven-game losing streak. This has them at 12-26 and last place in the National League Central division. They also have one of the worst records in all of Major League Baseball.

To try and help with this they have decided to part ways with manager Derek Shelton. Shelton managed for five-years plus and finished with a record of 306-440. He never led the team to the post season.

Don Kelly was named as his replacement. Kelly was the bench coach for the past six seasons under Shelton.

Could this be enough to help the Pirates? We shall have to wait and see. Though in the meantime give them some credit to try and shake things up. The question is though is it too little too late?
