Just when you thought the Pittsburgh Pirates were off to a good start they turn around and have a winless week going 0-6 against the Mets and Red Sox. That evens their record at 11-11. If they lose game one it will be the first time this year they fall under the .500 mark this season.

Now they have the tall task of facing division rival Milwaukee in a four-game set starting tonight. It’s the first NL central division series of the year. The Brewers lead the division currently at 14-6 and are four games ahead of the Pirates.

Jared Jones gets the start in game one. Will he be able to continue his solid start to the year and end the losing streak? More importantly can the offense wake up? In four of the last six games, they could only muster a single run scored. That’s a sure-fire way to lose games do not score.

Regardless it’s a good early season test to see what this Pirates team is made of. It’s just unfortunate they come into the series with no momentum due to the massive losing skid.
