Pirates Look to End Current Seven-Game Losing Streak Against NL West Foe
S. Samek
The past week has been rough if you root for the Pittsburgh Pirates. They sit winless in their last seven games, losing to the Diamondbacks, Padres and Dodgers. The streak has them sitting at 56-61 and in last place in the NL Central division by half a game. It’s also seen them drop a spot in the most recent power rankings to 18th.
The streak has them five games back of the last wild card spot. Unfortunately, it doesn’t get any easier. Next up on the schedule is a three-game series against the Padres.
Now while the Padres took all three last Tuesday through Thursday, they did win two of those games by a single run. However, they are 10 games ahead of the Pirates in the win collum at 66-53 and should be favored in this series.
Will the streak end tonight, or will it become an eight-game lsoing streak?
