Pirates add Pham

The Pittsburgh Pirates finally made a move to address their need for outfield help. They are set to sign Tommy Pham to a one -year deal.

Pham played for the Chicago White Sox, St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals in 2024. In 116 games he hit .248 with nine home runs and 39 RBI.

While it’s good to see them do something it just feels like they waited too long and got what’s left. It’s a move where you said oh they did something, but not enough to really move the dial.

Who knows maybe Pham has a bounce back year in 2025? Maybe a top prospect gets called up and Pham takes up a bench spot or is traded come June/July. Stil just been an underwhelming offseason if you’re a Pirates fan.

Will it get better probably not. Yet we shall see.
