Over the past decade there have been a lot of major world issues–such as healthcare, immigration, war, homelessness, etc.–that have been bringing poverty into our conversations and concerns. The following are all fairly popular movies that deal with the subject matter, especially with main characters who are (and/or have been) experiencing it. Pick one that you think should be our movie of the week and vote for it with a comment:

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971)

Slumdog Millionaire(2008)

Les Misérables (2012)

Parasite (2019)
