Pick your movie of the week: the 30’s! (Oct 7-13/17)

The “dirty thirties” was a tough time for us in the western world. And theaters were changing in a big way. The Great Depression caused theaters to change from fancy halls for the rich to a common place for common folk (with cheap popcorn!), and it was the decade when “talkies” really took off. Which of the following 30-something movies would you pick as our movie of the week?

And remember: you don’t have to have seen any of them to pick one.

Duck Soup (1933)Starring the Marx Brothers

Bringing Up Baby (1938)Starring Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn

Stagecoach (1939)Starring John Wayne
