Pick your movie of the week: Max von Sydow (Dec 4-10 /22)

If you don’t recognize the man dressed eerily in black in the picture above, he is Death. It’s an image from The Seventh Seal (1957), a Swedish film, where Max von Sydow got his first big break. In that movie he is a medieval knight and he plays chess with Death. If you saw Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey (1991), they reference this iconic scene.
