Pick your movie of the week: Kamala Harris (Nov 15-21/20)

There’s a lot of excitement Kamala Harris lately; I would even say more so than Biden. I was unable to find out her favourite movies, but I did find out her favourite books. One was The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, which was made into a movie in 2005. The following are also movies adapted from Harris’s favourite book list. If you haven’t seen (or read) any, I’ve included plot descriptions to help you decide:

The Joy Luck Club(1993) The life histories of four Asian women and their daughters reflect and guide each other.

The Kite Runner (2007) After spending years in California, Amir returns to his homeland in Afghanistan to help his old friend Hassan, whose son is in trouble.

Native Son (2019) A young African-American living in Chicago enters into a seductive new world of money and power after he is hired as a chauffeur for an affluent businessman.
